Privacy Policy

Whodunnit does not require an account of its own. It stores and syncs investigation data through Apple services and, when Share Usage Analytics is enabled, sends anonymized app-usage data to TelemetryDeck. It does not show advertising, sell data or track you across apps or websites.

Analytics data

Share Usage Analytics is enabled by default. When enabled, Whodunnit uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous product analytics. In Apple’s App Privacy categories, the data is Product Interaction and Device ID. Signals describe app screens, gameplay actions, case progress, results and settings; TelemetryDeck also supplies app, build and device metadata. The app does not send names, email addresses, Apple Account details, Game Center player IDs, story or evidence text, advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos or payment details to TelemetryDeck.

TelemetryDeck anonymizes its per-installation identifier before processing. Whodunnit uses this data only to understand and improve the game, never for advertising or tracking across apps or websites. Learn more in TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy.

Analytics choice

To stop future analytics collection, open the iOS Settings app and choose Apps → Whodunnit → Share Usage Analytics. Turning analytics off does not affect gameplay, saved cases, purchases or achievements.

Game data and iCloud

The app stores settings, game progress, case progress and evidence-board contents in its private storage. It also uses Apple’s iCloud key-value store to sync the active saved case and progress between devices signed in to iCloud. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s privacy policy.

Accounts, advertising and tracking

Network access

Cases can be played offline. Network access is used for TelemetryDeck while analytics is enabled and for Apple services including StoreKit purchases and restores, iCloud save sync and Game Center. Whodunnit does not operate its own gameplay or account backend.

Purchases and offline access

Whodunnit includes three free cases. The Full Casebook is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the other 15 cases. Apple’s StoreKit processes the purchase, verifies the entitlement and restores it for the Apple Account; Whodunnit does not receive or store payment details. Purchase, restore and initial entitlement verification can require a network connection. After StoreKit verifies ownership on the device, unlocked cases can be played offline. Restore Purchases is available in Whodunnit’s Settings.

Game Center

Whodunnit uses Apple Game Center for achievements. Apple handles Game Center authentication and account data under Apple’s privacy policy. The app reads the authenticated Game Center player identifier only to reconcile achievement progress and does not send it to TelemetryDeck.

Data retention and deletion

Local game data remains until you replace or delete a saved case, reset progress where the app provides that option, or remove the app. Deleting Whodunnit removes data in its local app container, subject to Apple’s backup behavior; synced iCloud data is managed through your Apple Account. TelemetryDeck’s retention practices are described in its privacy policy.

Apple services

Apple may process information related to downloading or updating the app, purchases, iCloud and Game Center. Apple handles that information under Apple’s privacy policy.

Children’s privacy

Whodunnit does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This website

The Whodunnit marketing pages do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, forms or non-essential cookies. The site serves its text, images, styles and scripts directly from the same website.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy and its revision date will be updated.
